3085. This is a Crandall hammer, it's a stone dressing tool made from several sharpened spikes which are held together with a frame and wedge. It was used to roughen the face of cut stone so that mortar would adhere to it.

3080. Sent in by a visitor who would like to identify this device, his description of it:
"Lever A rotates about 90 degrees clockwise and is spring returned to the position shown. It does not interact with any other part of the apparatus. Dial B moves piece C laterally. The pin that goes through piece C can be pulled out. The whole upper apparatus rotates 360 degrees on plate D with click-stops as indicated by the marks on this plate."
