1709 is a thimble worn on the palm used by sailmakers or leather workers to push a needle through heavy cloth or leather.

ReplyDeleteI restored a unique Victorian lawn glider some years back. This is one of two rocker assemblies used in its construction. These sat on a railed frame and the super structure with two opposing seats with canvas roof sat on top. The rods were to limit the travel and keep them positioned.
1710-"Dipstick" guage for measuring amount of liquid in a specific container.Readings are translated by an accompanying chart.

It was marked "roaster", probably got separated from its pan
