2365. A Zenith Space Commander 600 TV remote control:

This is an ultrasonic remote that doesn't need batteries, when the buttons are pushed spring-loaded hammers strike the metal tubes which create a tone that instructs the TV to adjust the channel, volume, or hue.

It can be seen in action in this video:

2366. A glazier's hammer for driving small nails and glazier's points into window and picture frames:

  2. 2365. Zenith Space Commander 600 ultrasonic TV remote control. Pressing a button snapped a hammer against a metal rod that would vibrate at a high pitch, triggering an action such as changing the channel.

    2366. Iron for waxing skis.

2367. Wheel from Chicago "El" or subway train.

    2370. Hedge-trimming shears.

  3. 2365 - early TV remote control - the type that used tuning forks

    2367 - railraod wheel

  4. 2367: Note that for most railroad equipment, the bearings supporting the car are attached to the OUTSIDE of the wheel rather than the inside as in this case. So this is either for a transit car (trolley, El, subway etc.), the leading wheel for an old steam locomotive, or some other equipment that runs on rails, like an overhead crane.

  5. 2369. Could be the sound generating part of a belt driven siren, perhaps an air raid or tornado siren.

  6. Amusingly, with TVs that used 2365, you could change the channel by jingling your keys.

  7. I think 2368 could be for crimping blasting caps onto a fuse wire, but it is just guessing...

  8. I thought 2370 looked like a fast way to lose fingers, and then someone went and sharpened the thing! Sheesh.
