  6. Vacuum tube shields--not "covers".

Used to prevent interference between stages.

Common types found under those shields?

    6C4, 12AX7, 12AY7, many others.

AKA ECC83 (for example) and 5751

And the speed thing is called a pitometer, or pitometer log, I think.

And 1478 is a device for holding something (I don't remember what, but I think I have seen them in use) while working on it.

  8. 1477 - Yup, I agree, loks like flare gun, but there is something strange in the construction.

1479 - Gee, I thought I was sharp to guess tube shields but everyone knows what they are. They still have the springs in em.

1481- not a speed indicator, a down rigger for troll fishing; the weighted jig runs at a constant depth at a distance from the boat and trails the baited line behind. Keeps the trolled lines from fouling the boat.

  9. 1478 It looks like a holder for a slotted scraper. Starrett made something verry similar.

  11. Sorry, that should have said Friday evening, I had altered it a few weeks ago and forgot to change it back. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
